changes

Change is good -- so everyone says. Here are some of the many changes going on in the Mondragon home.

Juliana Piper -- my sweet baby girl is no longer my sweet infant, but my little toddler girl (even though she's not much bigger than a six month old infant). JP is such a busy, busy person, with so much to do and learn every day. She runs, not walks. She dances. She sings. She climbs. She falls. She bangs things together. She waves at the tv. She even tackles. She is, in a nutshell, quite hilarious. We have cherished the past year with her, to put it mildly. Even now as I type, I hear her singing to herself in her crib ... so sweet! Of course, along with turning one comes many *not so sweet* qualities. Somehow she has inherited a stubborn, at times impatient, streak. I am praying that God calls her to salvation early and will use all that personality and spunk he's given her for His glory.

Sweet baby #2 -- We have less than three weeks until this baby is *supposed* to arrive. My body started early preparations for labor about 3 weeks ago, but then it was the same with Juliana. Apparently my body needs lots of time to prep itself for labor. Go figure. We had the same scare with this one (at the same exact time) as we did with Juliana -- low fluid. This time, the fluid was even lower than with Juliana, but it did go up enough for the baby to keep baking. Good thing -- apparently we're also having another peanut. In the meantime, I'm supposed to be *resting* as much as possible ... yeah right. And no, we still haven't figured out exactly where the baby will sleep (after the first couple of months). And no, we still don't have a girl name.

Providence Community -- The church continues to grow and change. There are many faces in the crowd now, with many needs. The time demands placed on our family continue to grow. Chad still works at Starbucks, which continues to sap his energy. We are praying for more changes here!

On a side note, our dear friend Anne took some gorgeous pictures of our gorgeous girl. Here is the link to see more of her handiwork.
