My Thoughts on the Vols

This picture was the best part of the game. We were all (Juliana and I in UT apparel and Mel in UGA) able to go to Chick-fil-a for our free chicken strips and then we came home and tried to finish off the great opening weekend of college football. I would like to say that UT had an incredible first half, but the second half is where all the problems began. First, the whole game was not lost by Lincoln. Yes, he may have missed the final field goal, but it should never be left up to the kicker. Second, Crompton is partially to blame, but not all. He did fairly well for his first starting game. I can see great potential in him, once he works out the nerves. Third, we can't let the defense off on this game. I am still unsure how they could shut down the UCLA offense the whole first half and then fail the second. It seemed to me like there were too many first downs for UCLA. Their offense was horible, even in the second half. All in all, the Vols were the better team, they just did what is common for the Vols, they choked! They better get it together because Florida and Auburn are in a few weeks.

Agreed. There is also the matter of the team's senior leader Foster fumbling inside the 10 on what could have been a huge TD. Overall, quite a disappointment.
